craven gap

Craven Gap is a ghost story, but underneath its narrative it engages with the process of myth-making and Appalachian identity. By having my grandfather as the narrator I engage with the Appalachian tradition of oral storytelling, and by smashing multiple mediums together (Super 8mm film, digital, animation) I create a splintered temporality, where fact and fiction blur together, complicating notions of history as truth.
